Visit from Corteva

On June 16, 2026, a delegation from Corteva visited the Institute. The meeting focused on crop diseases, including new findings from the Department of Pathogen Genetics and Plant Resistance that could be applied in practice. The main topic of the discussion was methods for identifying pathotypes of Plasmodiophora brassicae (the cause of clubroot) and understanding the set of pathotypes occurring in Poland and neighboring countries. The issue of blackleg and the range of resistance genes found in modern winter oilseed rape varieties grown in Europe were also discussed. Participants learned the basic principles of the PestSpace application and completed questionnaires for project stakeholders. Meetings between representatives of science and agribusiness are an important element of information flow and a way for scientific discoveries to be quickly applied to agricultural practice, as well as a way to inform scientists about the types of problems currently faced by agriculture.
