Modern Research Equipment at IPG PAS – Confocal Microscope Installed

On 16 October 2026, the installation and demonstration of the capabilities of a new confocal microscope, purchased as part of the OMNIPLANT project – National Research Infrastructure for Imaging and Multi-Omics Analysis at the Single Plant Cell Level for Modern Agriculture and Forestry, took place at the Institute of Plant Genetics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The state-of-the-art microscope will enable detailed visualisation and documentation of the course of plant diseases, as well as precise studies of the biological processes underlying them. As a result, scientists at the Institute of Plant Genetics PAS will gain new opportunities to explore the mechanisms responsible for plant health and resistance.

The purchase of the equipment also opens up prospects for further development of cooperation with the business sector, particularly with companies operating in the fields of agriculture and forestry.

The OMNIPLANT project (No. FENG.02.04-IP.04-0008/25) is co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 programme.
