Scientific Visit Strengthens Collaboration Between IGR PAN and CSIR, South Africa

Dr. Sudhakar Muniyasamy, Principal Scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), South Africa, visited the Institute of Plant Genetics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IGR PAN) in Poznań from 5 to 9 October 2026.

The visit was supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) Mobility Programme under Agreement No. PAN.BFB.S.BWZ.248.022.2026 (IGR PAN – BWZ PAN).

During his stay, Dr. Muniyasamy met with IGR PAN researchers to discuss ongoing research activities and explore opportunities for future collaboration. He also visited the Institute’s laboratories and glasshouse facilities and delivered an invited lecture entitled “Biodegradable Polymers for Agricultural Applications.”

The visit further strengthened scientific cooperation between IGR PAN and CSIR and provided a foundation for the preparation of a joint project proposal under the M-ERA.NET programme.

Future collaboration will focus on joint research activities, international funding opportunities, and the development of sustainable agricultural applications of biodegradable polymers.
